2011 ended up a great surfing year for the club, with 10 out of 11 possible rounds being held. Club Champion is Frank McWilliams bringing home the bacon by a solitary 1 point from the PREZ, Wazza. Winners are grinners!
Our 21st year presentation night was held at Marg and Pete's, great atmosphere with all the crew.
In 2010 the 20th Anniversary Club celebrations were held at the Ballina Cherry St Bowling Club, on 13 November 2010. The one-off Phil Myers 20th Anniversary longboard was won by Leonie Rowe, congratulations! More info and photos at the previous website Newsletters Here so enjoy. Mal and the Longboarders played until after the pumpkin hour. A great night was had by all.
Our 2010 presentation was held at Pete and Kerry's home on 5th December, another top evening had by all, with Eric Walker holding the Club Champ in our 20th year 2010, with the bridesmaid Grant Edwards, for the 2nd year running! You can view all the club results HERE!
Ballina Malibu Club is a non-profit organisation established in 1990 to offer longboard surfers in the Northern Rivers an opportunity to raise the level of their surfing ability, through competition at local, regional, state and national levels. The organisation now has around 35 members and holds monthly competition rounds and regular social events. We are a small, friendly, family focused club.
The Ballina Malibu Club meet on the first Sunday of each month (except January) at 7:00am in the Flat Rock carpark. Most competition rounds are held at Flat Rock.
New members are always welcome.
Flat Rock is a flat reef extending 100 metres seaward offering protection from southerly winds and producing a tasty right-hand reef break, with takeoffs from out the front of the ledge, the boil and suck-rocks, and also several left-hand beach breaks, depending on the banks.
